My 3 Tamiya FO Leopards 2A6
you all saw my first leopard 2a6 last year on the battlefield , i bought in in bad condition from a guy in belgium for a cheap price , after last year i learned metal wheelbones were a must on this leopard is was so fast and brute in reaction the plastic ones were broken time after time, ask philip he knows he spend about seven hours on them
this is how i get him
on the first sight quite nice but several broken wheelbones , i was not knowing of that the outlines were perfect and a weared idler wheel said enough

the tamiya dmd7 is a real nice piece of engeniering
Evolved DMD unit
The T-07 DMD unit provides the 1/16 R/C Leopard 2 A6 with more features than any other Tamiya R/C tank. The T-07 unit matches engine sound (which has been digitally recorded from a real MB873-Ka501 turbo-charged diesel engine) with tank movements, and controls various lightning combinations activated easily with transmitter. Turret rotation, gun elevation and firing sounds also add to the realism of this model. The T-07 unit and 7.2V battery are mounted in the turret for easy and quick accessibility.
Synchronized light and sound effects
The R/C Leopard 2 A6 is equipped with a sound speaker unit mounted at the center of the hull. A xenon flash tube is used to make gun firing more convincing. When fired, main gun recoils and then goes back smoothly to its initial position thanks to a gearbox mounted in the turret. Of course, these actions are coupled with sound effects which have been digitally recorded from the actual tank.

Re: My 3 Tamiya FO Leopards 2A6
some advice from thomas brogel ( 3D Designer on Shapeways, he was our geust in dortmund ) on the gunstabilisator
counterweight about 130 gram
its mounted this way
the pics are from thomas leo
Also, it is important to put a counterweight to the recoil mechanism on the gun (inside the turret, under the recoil, over the hole in the turrent).
It needs to be about 130g. I madea 3D model that is also available on Shapeways.
also using a digital servo ... its reacts in less then 0.5 sec and a metal servo arm with no clearance will give immediate respons of the gun
